Short distance runner Yupun Abeykoon was able to finish the first race he participated in this year with a victory.

He participated in the Firenze Sprint Festival held in Italy and won the 200 meters by finishing the race with a time of 20.60 seconds.

He also participated in several 200m events last year and managed to break the national record in that event by completing the event with a time of 20.36 seconds.
