The National Dengue Control Unit says that a special dengue control program covering the Colombo district will be implemented next week.

Its director Dr. Sudath Samaraweera said that 20% of dengue cases in Sri Lanka are reported from Colombo district.

Accordingly, he said that 6,689 dengue cases have been reported in the last 18 days of this year.
