The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that the rain situation in the south-weste part of the island is expected to continue.

It states that it occurs from time to time in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Southe , Central and North-Weste provinces.
 
In Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces, Galle and Matara districts, heavy rains of more than 100 mm may also occur in some places.

Easte and Uva provinces and Polonnaruwa, Vavunia and Mullativu districts will experience scattered showers or thunderstorms during the evening or night.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
