The Department of Meteorology says in a statement that there will be rain or thundershowers from time to time in Weste , Sabaragamuwa and North-Weste provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

It also stated that some places in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Puttalam, Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rains of more than 50 mm.
 
Anuradhapura and Hambantota districts may experience several periods of rain.

In Uva province, Batticaloa and Ampara districts, rain or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the evening or at night.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
 
In the weste slopes of the Central Hills and in the Northe , North-Central and North-Weste Provinces, Trincomalee and Hambantota Districts, the winds are blowing at times per 40-45kmh.
