The Department of Meteorology says in an announcement that there will be occasional rains in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces, Galle and Matara districts.

The announcement also states that there may be heavy rains of more than 50 mm in some places.

There may be several periods of rain in the North-West Province and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Hambantota districts.

In Uva and Easte Provinces, rain or thundershowers will occur at places in the evening or at night.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may accompany thunderstorms.
