The Department of Meteorology says that an increase in rainfall is expected from today (26) in the North, North Central, Uva and Easte provinces.

In Weste and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in Galle and Matara Districts, rain or thundershowers may occur in a few places after 2 pm.

It is said that strong winds of around 30-40kmh will occur from time to time in the easte areas of the central mountains and in the northe , north-central, easte and Uva provinces and Hambantota district.

Also, some places in Sabaragamuwa, Central and Weste provinces and Galle and Matara districts will experience foggy conditions in the mo ing.

Requesting the people, the department said to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
