Dr. Janaka Jayasuriya, Astronomer of the Department of Physics, University of Colombo, says that Sri Lanka will be able to see the maximum of the Leonid meteor shower tomorrow (18) and the day after (19).

He said that these meteors can be seen after 2:00 AM during these two days when looking at Leo on the easte horizon.

He also mentioned that 10-15 meteors can be seen here per hour, and this is not a large number of meteors.
