The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that there will be several periods of rain in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, South and North-West provinces and in Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

It also said that scattered showers or thundershowers will occur in Uva and Easte provinces, Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu districts in the evening or at night.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
