12 Indian fishermen who were engaged in illegal fishing activities in the sea area south of Mannar have been arrested.

This was by the Navy.

The Navy stated that the vessel on which they were fishing has also been taken into custody.

The vessel and the fishermen who were arrested are scheduled to be brought to Mannar and handed over to the Fisheries Office for further legal proceedings.
