During the past year, 40,649 dengue patients have been reported across the island.

The National Dengue Control Unit stated that about 50% of the patients reported across the island in the past week have been identified from the Weste Province.

The unit further stated that there is a risk of increasing the spread of dengue in the face of rainy weather.

The Ministry of Health stated that it is expected to increase dengue disease control programs and inspection programs in areas surrounding buildings in the future.

Twenty-two patients have died due to dengue during the past year.
