The public comments on the proposal submitted by the Ceylon Electricity Board to the Public Utilities Commission regarding the revision of electricity tariffs are scheduled to end today (08).

The public comments were received from September 18th, covering all provinces, and the final session is scheduled to be held today (08), focusing on the Weste Province.

The Ceylon Electricity Board has proposed to increase the electricity tariff by 6.8% through the proposals related to the revision of electricity tariffs.

Director of the Public Utilities Commission, Jayanath Herath, stated that the final decision is scheduled to be announced in the second week of this month, taking into account all the comments and suggestions.
