US President Donald Trump has said that if an agreement cannot be reached with Iran in a short time, he will destroy Iran's water treatment plants.

He made the statement on the Truth social media network.

The water treatment plants are used to remove salt from seawater and make it drinkable.

The message further states that the United States is engaged in negotiations with a more reasonable regime in Iran to end its military operations.

The message also states that great progress has already been made in this regard.
