US President Donald Trump has announced that he will extend the ceasefire with Iran.

The aim is reportedly to continue peace talks between the two countries to end the war that has lasted for more than a month, claiming thousands of lives and severely affecting the global economy.

Although he had threatened to attack after the ceasefire ended, Trump later backed away from that position and issued a statement saying that he had agreed to a request made by Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator in the peace talks.
