The death toll from the extreme weather conditions in Sri Lanka has increased to 17. six of the deaths were reported in Matara, five in Ratnapura, 03 deaths in Colombo, two in Gall, and one in Gampaha.

Meanwhile, 159,991 individuals across 13 district individuals have been affected due to bad weather.

The forces and Police have been deployed to search and rescue, as well as relief teams to flood affected areas.
