The Criminal Investigation Department was ordered yesterday (18) to obtain a statement from Parliamentarian Rohitha Abeygunawardena in connection with a case involving financial fraud and report the matter to the court within 02 weeks.

This was done by the Kaduwela Magistrate's Court.

There have been allegations that financial fraud has taken place during the construction of the Hambantota Port during his tenure as a minister.
