Former IGP Deshabandu Tennakoon, who had obtained a warrant in connection with the shooting incident that took place in the Weligama area of ​​Matara in 2023, surrendered to the Matara Magistrate's Court this mo ing (19) along with his lawyers.

Matara Magistrate Aruna Buddhadasa has issued this order, rejecting the bail application submitted by the lawyers appearing for Deshabandu Tennakoon when the relevant case was taken up.

The magistrate stated that an appropriate order will be issued regarding the bail application tomorrow.
