The Government Medical Officers Association says it will engage in trade union action from November 17th.
This is due to the failure to provide solutions to their problems in the budget.
They have also decided not to issue prescriptions for over-the-counter medicines at health clinics.
The Specialist Doctors Association stated that since permanent solutions to their problems have not been provided as expected in this year's budget, all specialist doctors have been summoned to Colombo to discuss future measures to be taken in this regard.
