The Government Medical Officers' Association says it will go on a symbolic strike for 48 hours starting at 8.00 am tomorrow (23) in hospitals islandwide.

The association stated that the strike action is being initiated due to the failure of the Ministry of Health to implement the agreement given to resolve the issues of free health services and doctors.

However, the association further stated that the strike will not be implemented in mate ity hospitals, hospitals, children's hospitals, kidney hospitals, and cancer hospitals.
