An earthquake has struck about 16 kilometers northeast of the coastal city of Paphos in southweste Cyprus.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center said that the earthquake struck at around 09.31 this morning (12) local time with a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake was also felt by people in northe Israel.

However, it is reported that no tsunami warning has been issued.
