The Secretary to the Ministry of Health has issued a letter immediately removing the Medical Superintendent of the Akkaraipattu Base Hospital, who was accused of misconduct.

Accordingly, the 5-day medical strike in the Easte Province has reportedly ended at 2.00 pm today (22).

Patient care services have now resumed as usual in all hospitals in the Easte Province.
