The Ministry of Education has initiated an urgent ministerial-level investigation following the inclusion of politically charged questions in a school term examination.
Secretary to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, Thilaka Jayasundara, confirmed that instructions have been issued to relevant officials to address the issue swiftly. The controversy arose over five questions related to a political party included in a public test for high school students at Kannangara Madhya Maha Vidyalaya in the Kalutara District during the second term exams.
Jayasundara clarified that the examination paper was prepared solely by the school and was not influenced by the ministry or any other exte al institution. She assured the public that appropriate measures would be taken after a thorough investigation.
