Former Member of Parliament Harin Fe ando was arrested by Badulla Police this mo ing (20) in connection with an incident of violating election laws. The arrest was confirmed by Police Media Spokesman, DIG Nihal Thalduwa.

Harin had been summoned to the Badulla Police to provide a statement regarding a heated altercation with police officers during an election campaign in Badulla on the 11th. The incident involved him and his supporters wearing t-shirts with 'number 10' while campaigning in the town.

In this year’s election, Harin Fe ando secured 9,371 votes in the Badulla district under the New Democratic Front.
