An SLTB bus travelling from Batticaloa to Galle has collided with the rear of a tipper truck travelling in front of it in the Weliara area on the Colombo-Wellawaya main road.

It is reported that this occurred at around 2.45 am today (24).

Twelve passengers and the driver of the tipper truck have been injured in the accident and have been admitted to the Tangalle Hospital.

It is reported that one passenger, who was in a serious condition, has died.
