A fisherman has died after a lightning strike hit a fishing vessel in the Beruwala sea.

The Beruwala Police stated that another fisherman was injured and admitted to the Beruwala Regional Hospital.

The deceased fisherman is a 41-year-old resident of Kapugoda, Maggona.

They were out at sea last night (06) when the accident occurred.
