Former Police Inspector Jagath Nishantha has been arrested upon his return to the country from abroad.

This was done by the Criminal Investigation Department.

The police stated that he was arrested in this manner, a suspect in connection with the shooting incident that took place at the W15 Hotel in Weligama.
