The Supreme Court has sentenced Immigration and Emigration Controller Harsha Illukpitiya, who was accused of contempt of court, to two years in prison.
It is reported that this decision was given by Supreme Court Justice Yasantha Kodagoda with the concurrence of Justices Janak de Silva and Arjuna Obeysekara.
The judge, while announcing the decision, stated that the respondent, Harsha Illukpitiya, has committed serious contempt of court through this act.
