A team from the Inte ational Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Senior Mission Head Peter Brewer, is set to arrive in Sri Lanka today (17) to conduct the third review of the Extended Credit Facility (ECF).
The review will assess Sri Lanka's progress in implementing economic reforms and agreements under the IMF program, as well as the gove ment's current economic policies. This review is critical as it will determine the release of the fourth tranche of the ECF.
Sri Lanka's four-year ECF program, aimed at economic recovery, totals $2.9 billion. So far, the IMF has disbursed approximately $1 billion, including $333 million in March 2023, $337 million in December 2023, and $336 million in June 2024.
