The Sri Lankan Election Commission has announced the final results for the Batticaloa District in the 2024 General Election. The Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK) emerged as the leading party, capturing over 33% of the total votes in the district.

The ITAK received 96,975 votes, securing the district win, while the National People’s Power (NPP) came in second with 55,498 votes (19.33%).

Based on these results, the ITAK has obtained 3 seats in Batticaloa District, with the NPP winning 1 seat and SLMC winning 1 seat.

• Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK): 96,975 votes - 3 seats
• National People’s Power (NPP): 55,498 votes – 1 seat
• Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC): 40,139 votes – 1 seat
• Thamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal (TMVP): 31,286 votes
• Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB): 22,570 votes
