India's IndiGo has decided to start daily direct flights between Jaffna and Trichy Airport in Tamil Nadu.

IndiGo said that the operations will commence from March 30.

IndiGo's Global Head of Sales, Vinay Malhotra, said that this step is being taken in view of the high demand for flights between Jaffna and Trichy Airport.

He pointed out that this route is popular for business and religious travel, and the operation of direct flights daily will lead to economic growth in both countries.
