The Department of Census and Statistics has announced Sri Lanka's National Consumer Price Index and monthly consumer inflation for the month of January 2026 today (23).

Accordingly, it is stated that the country's inflation, which was reported as 2.9% in December 2025, has decreased to 2.4% in January 2026.

Similarly, the target inflation in the food category, which was reported as 4.4% in December 2025, has decreased to 3.4% in January 2026.
