The construction of the Kandy Gatambe Flyover, which had been stalled for many years, resumed yesterday (06) afte oon.

This was under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The estimated cost of this project, which began construction in 2021 with a loan from the Hungarian gove ment, is recorded at Rs. 14.37 billion.

It is reported that the loan from the Hungarian govenrment was suspended in the face of the previous economic crisis, and the construction of the flyover was also suspended.

Accordingly, the construction of this flyover, which has been resumed with local funds of Rs. 12.27 billion, is planned to be completed within 22 months.
