Kancha Sherpa of Nepal, the last member of the first expedition team to successfully climb Everest, the world's highest mountain, passed away yesterday (16).
Foreign media reported that he had been ill for the past few days.
He was 92 years old at the time of his death.
The 35-member team led by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay successfully climbed Mount Everest for the first time in the world in 1953.
