The three-story surgical and clinical complex building constructed at the Pottuvil Base Hospital with the assistance of the Chinese government has been opened to the public.

This was under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.

The minister stated that work on 12 hospitals has been completed under the project to develop 13 hospitals with the assistance of the Chinese government.

He further stated that only the construction of the Kalawana Hospital is still underway.

A sum of one billion rupees has been spent on the building constructed at the Pottuvil Base Hospital.
