Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala stated that a decision has been made to establish a new police division to prevent computer-related crimes.

This was while participating in the opening of the Polpitiya Police Station yesterday (06).

The minister of knowledge stated that between 23 and 25 computer-related crimes are reported daily.

The Minister also stated that the necessary new technology, special knowledge and mode ization process of the Police Department are being systematically implemented to investigate and solve those crimes efficiently.
