Iran extends the prison term of Nobel Peace Prize winner



Foreign media say that the Iranian Revolutionary Court has sentenced Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi to another 15 months in prison.

According to foreign media reports, Narges Mohammadi has already been in prison for 12 years.

She has been accused of spreading propaganda against the Islamic Republic while in prison.

It is also said that her family condemned the verdict saying that this is her fifth offense since March 2021.

Narges Mohammadi has been campaigning for human rights in Iran for decades.

Because of that, it is said that she has come out of prison for two decades because of her activism.

She has been arrested 13 times and sentenced to 31 years in prison.
