An increase in wet weather around the country is expected during upcoming days, the Department of Meteorology stated in the latest weather forecast.

Heavy showers above 75 mm are likely to occur at some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces and Galle and Matara districts.

Thundershowers will arise in almost every province after 02.00 p.m.

In the coastal areas of Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle showers will occur in the mo ings as well.

The public is highly advised to take necessary safety measures to minimize damages caused by strong winds, thundering, and lightning.
