The provincial council election amendment bill has been published through a gazette.

The bill was submitted by Jaffna District Member of Parliament Mr. M. A. Sumanthiran.

It is reported that if the relevant bill is submitted to the parliament and passed, it will be possible to hold the provincial council election using the old voting system.

Accordingly, it is stated that the Provincial Council Elections Amendment Act No. 17 of 2017 will be repealed by this new bill.
