The announcement issued by the Department of Meteorology today (21) shows that there will be several periods of rain in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Northe provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

It also said that there will be little rain in the North-Central and North-West provinces.
 
In Uva province, Ampara and Batticaloa districts, rain or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the evening or at night.

In the weste slopes of the Central Hills, in the Northe and North Central Provinces, Puttalam, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts, Strong winds of around 40-45 kmh are possible.
 
People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
