The Department of Meteorology says that today (07) light rains will occur in Weste and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

It is said that rain or thundershowers may occur in a few places in the easte and Uva provinces during the evening or during the night.

In the rest of the island, there is mainly rainless weather.

The Department of Meteorology requests the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
