The Department of Meteorology has issued an announcement saying that after 1.00 pm there will be scattered rains or thunderstorms in many parts of the island.

The announcement also states that some places in the Weste , Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-West and Uva provinces may experience heavy rain of more than 75 mm.

Rain may also occur in the mo ing in the northe , easte and southe provinces.

Foggy conditions may prevail in some places in Weste , Sabaragamuwa, Central and Uva provinces in the mo ing.

People are kindly requested to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
