Currently, there is a daily increase in reports of children with autism, says Dr. Swarna Wijetunga of the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital.

She said that in a survey conducted in the country in 2009, one in 93 children was identified as having autism.

Dr. Swarna Wijetunga made these comments while participating in a media briefing held at the Health Promotion Bureau in conjunction with Autism Awareness Day.
