The driver of the tipper truck arrested in connection with the accident that occurred in Kuliyapitiya, killing three people including two schoolgirls, has been remanded.
That is until the 8th of September.
He was produced before Kuliyapitiya Magistrate Randika Lakmal Jayalath today (28).
It is reported that after considering the facts presented there, the suspected tipper truck driver has been ordered to be remanded.
The police also stated in court that it has been revealed that the driver in question had been driving without sleep for more than 24 hours.
Accordingly, it has been revealed in court that necessary legal action will be taken against the owner of the tipper truck in the future.
