A boat accident has occurred in Sokoto State, northweste Nigeria.

Foreign media reported that 40 people were missing in the accident.

Foreign media also reported that a boat carrying nearly 50 passengers was involved in the accident.

About 10 people have been rescued, while more than 40 other passengers are still missing.
