Disney overtakes Netflix

Disney is set to launch an ad-supported streaming service in the US in December.

That's because Disney has been able to overtake Netflix in terms of paying subscribers.

Disney confirmed at the start of July that it had 221.1 million subscribers across its three streaming platforms.

And due to the recent losing of Netflix customers, this figure has surpassed the number of current Netflix customers.

But Disney said its subscriber growth has slowed compared to earlier forecasts due to the loss of streaming rights for cricket in India.

Their three main platforms are Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+.
