Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala stated that the cabinet has approved the provision of an allowance of Rs. 7,000 for police officers.

This was while participating in the parliamentary budget committee debate.

He stated that the allowance will be provided next month.

He further stated that this allowance is to be provided for the uniforms and shoes of police officers.
