Seven suspects were arrested yesterday (23) on charges of running, promoting, and managing a pyramid scheme.

They have been remanded in custody after being produced before the court, it is reported.

According to information received by the IGP, the group was arrested following an investigation conducted by a team of officers from the Financial Crimes Investigation Division.

The suspects arrested are reported to be residents of the Ratmalana, Pannipitiya, Galnewa, Hokandara, Peradeniya, and Colombo 04 areas, aged between 40 and 64.
