Minister of Health and Mass Media Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa announced that steps will be taken to establish a chartered institution to enhance the professionalism of jou alists.

This was in Parliament today (06).

The minister also stated that Rs. 25 million has been allocated for this purpose in this year's budget.

He further stated that steps will be taken to hold workshops to educate school students on the ethics prevailing in the media sector and good jou alism.
