In the past week, the number of dengue cases reported from Sri Lanka has exceeded



The Ministry of Health says that 1,590 dengue cases have been reported in Sri Lanka in the past week.
 
The National Dengue Control Unit stated that 50.8% of them are reported from the Weste Province.
 
The same unit also mentioned that 56 Health Medical Officer Divisions have been designated as Dengue High Risk Zones.

The newly joined medical officer divisions are Akurana, Matale Municipal Council jurisdiction, Ambalangoda, Wariyapola, Aheliyagoda, Ambilipitiya and Galigamu.
 
The Ministry of Health said that nearly 50,000 dengue cases have been reported so far this year.
