The Department of Meteorology says that an increase in rain conditions can be expected in the southweste areas of the island in the next few days.

The Department stated that showers or thundershowers may occur at times in the Weste , Sabaragamuwa, and Northweste provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

The Department of Meteorology further stated that some places in those areas may experience fairly heavy rains exceeding 75 mm.

Similarly, showers or thundershowers may also occur in a few places in the Uva and easte provinces after 1.00 pm.
