The Prisons Department says that the taking of inmates of the Angunakolapelessa Prison to court for legal proceedings has been temporarily suspended.

Its media spokesperson A.C. Gajanayake stated that the measure was taken with the aim of controlling the spread of the disease after several inmates fell ill.
